Emily Bonilla Receives Endorsement from Save Orange County, Inc.

Save Orange County, Inc, writes, “The Save Orange County, Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to report we fully endorse your candidacy for the ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONER, District 5 race. By a recent vote of the Save Orange County, Inc. Board of Directors we determined that your demonstrated strengths as a community advocate and willingness to be responsive to residents makes you the ideal candidate for the Board of County Commissioners District 5 race. This becomes extremely important in the orange county District 5 race as you are a recognized strong advocate for environmental protection and sustainability. Most importantly you actually listen to citizen concerns and are not beholding to the campaign funding of Developers pursuing urban sprawl.

The Save Orange County, Inc. organization has experienced what it is like when politicians support Developers “wants” over citizen “needs” in East Orange County. We need honest politicians willing to support the will of the people and we look forward to working with you on community matters in the near future. We need your voice on the board of county commissioners because you are recognized as someone that will always consider CITIZENS FIRST in all decisions.”

Emily’s response, “The quote from JFK comes to mind, ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.’ When I hear District 5 residents complain that their commissioner isn’t listening to them and only represents the developers because he works for them. Save Orange County, Inc and other “citizen” groups across District 5 have gathered and have been proactive to gaining their commissioner’s attention. This is their responsibility as citizens. I am running for commissioner because I am one of those citizens who organized and fought to be heard. As Commissioner, I vow to represent the best interests of the people, like I wish our commissioner had done for me and my neighbors.”
